My first reading!<\/p>\n
Today I downloaded and read a book in Hiragana!\u00a0 It was bloody hard, especially as I don’t know the words (although there were a few sounds that were familiar, and I was able to recognise them).\u00a0 Kaoru had the idea of a childrens book, as that was about all I could get that is in just Hiragana (ie, no Katakana or Kanji).\u00a0 I put myself in David’s shoes as he does his readers – although he at least knows the words!\u00a0 Kaoru was very patient, correcting me as needed (which was quite frequent).\u00a0 All in all, I think it was a great experience.\u00a0 It allowed me to learn exceptions (such as “Ha” becoming “Wa” under some circumstances), and much more enjoyable than looking at single letters on number plates.<\/p>\n
Other than that, we didn’t do much.\u00a0 I worked, we went grocery shopping, went for a walk…<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
